Pioneer Day

My sister was in town on the 24th of July and up here in Utah its quite the big deal. We went to a big celebration at a cool park in Provo. They had all these old cars and a big firetruck. They had games and food and the kids loved it!

Avery was perfectly happy to be carried around by her daddy.

The kids waited patiently in line for a turn to play in the fire truck.

The guy let them honk the big horn, but that started craziness because all heck broke loose and they wouldnt stop honking. Every kid from then on HAD to honk the horn. It got quite annoying.

Bill and Curtis took the kids to play some games while Stacy and I sat under this massive tree and people watched. Such entertainment. Avery just walked around with her bag of pretzels and tried to eat everyones food who was sittng around us. She is obsessed with water bottles and Costco was giving out free ones so she happily drenced herself with every drink.

Noah got his face painted. Not quite sure what it was.

Most of the fireworks were the weekend before, but we knew there would be a few going on-we just didnt want to deal with the crowds, so after a yummy BBQ at Scott and Andrea's, we headed up to the top of the mountain to catch a few shows at once.

Nothing ever turns out the way you plan. We saw a few shows waaaaay of in the distance, but it was lame. Bill complained the whole time that we should have gone to a show, but the kids had fun regardless-they got to sit on the roof of the car! We went home and put the kids to bed-Bill included). That was my favorite part of the day

The next day, my sister and her family went to a family reunion until Sat. night. They came back and we just hung out. It was so nice to relax and hang out with my sister because I dont get to see her a lot. The kids had so much fun together and its always so sad to see them go. On Sunday we made sweet pork and a yummy dessert and gorged ourselves. Such fun! We wont see them again until Thanksgiving when we cram both our families into my parents house. My parents especially look foward to this. Love you guys and thanks for spending the week with us!
